This is to certify— that at a general conference held at Quincy Adam’s County Illinois, by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on Saturday the 4th of May 1839.

That Almond Babbit [Almon Babbitt], Erastus Snow and Robert B. Thompson be appointed a traveling committee to gather up and obtain all the libelous reports and publications which have been circu lated against our <the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints> Church— as well as other historical matter connected with said church which they can possibly obtain.
