Not long after JS arrived in Kirtland, Ohio, in early February 1831, a revelation urged the elders to congregate in Kirtland as soon as possible. In this letter, JS instructed Martin Harris, the agent for emigrating Palmyra, New York, Saints, to come ahead to Ohio and select land where his associates could settle. Sidney Rigdon penned this letter, which was possibly preserved by the Newel Knight family.
