Oaths, 3 February 1841

City of Nauvoo, Ill, Feb. 3rd, AD. 1841.
We, Daniel H. Wells, William Marks, N[ewel] K. Whitney,  and Samuel H. Smith, do solemnly swear, in the  presence of Almighty God, that we will support  the Constitution of the United States, and of the  State of Illinois, and that we will well and  truly perform the duties of Aldermen of the  City of Nauvoo according to law and the best  of our abilities.

Green[e], and Wilson Law, do solemnly swear,  in the presence of Almighty God, that we will sup port the Constitution of the United States, and of  the State of Illinios, and that we will well  and truly perform the duties of Councillors  of the City of Nauvoo according to law and the  best of our abilities.
