Revelation, 4 November 1830 [D&C 34]

time of my coming for all nations shall tremble but before that great day shall come the sun shall be darkened & the moon be turned into blood & the stars shall refuse their shineing8

An earlier revelation had explained the meteorological signs and calamities that “shall come to pass because of the wickedness of the World that I will take vengeance upon the Wicked for they will not Repent.” (Revelation, Sept. 1830–A [D&C 29:17]; see also Letter to Newel Knight and the Church in Colesville, 28 Aug. 1830.)  


& some shall fall & great distructions await the wicked Wherefore lift up thy voice & spare not for the Lord God hath spoken9

therefore Prophecy & it shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost & if ye are faithful behold I am with you until I come & Verily Verily I say unto you I come quickly10
