Soon after Samuel Smith returned to New York from a visit with JS and Emma Smith at Harmony, Pennsylvania, in spring 1829, another of JS’s brothers, Hyrum, journeyed to their residence. This revelation provided instructions to Hyrum regarding his personal life and his role in advancing the work.
