Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, by 1837. Moved to Missouri, 1838. Served as drummer boy at Battle of Crooked River, 1838. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. Married JS's sister Lucy Smith, 4 June 1840, at Nauvoo. Appointed second lieutenant in Nauvoo Legion, Apr. 1841. Member of Nauvoo Masonic Lodge. Supported James J. Strang as successor to JS, 1846, at Nauvoo. Moved to Knoxville, Knox Co., Illinois; to Hancock Co., 1850; and to Colchester area, McDonough Co., Illinois, by 1860. Received into RLDS church, 8 Apr. 1873. Died at Colchester.
