27 Oct. 1835–14 Dec. 1905. Schoolteacher. Born at Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Daughter of Samuel H. Smith and Mary Bailey. Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, Mar. 1838. Moved to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, Apr. 1839; to Macomb, McDonough Co., Illinois, summer 1839; to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, Nov. 1841; and to Plymouth, Hancock Co., fall 1842. Orphaned, 1844; lived with mother’s sister in Wisconsin. Married Alonzo A. Hunt, ca. 1858. Resided at Osage, Mitchell Co., Iowa, June 1860; in Moody Co., Dakota Territory, June 1880; and at Enterprise, Moody Co., South Dakota, June 1900. Died at Dell Rapids, Minnehaha Co., South Dakota.
