6 Jan. 18091–28 Oct. 1853.2 Lawyer, blacksmith.3 Born at Rushville, Yates Co., New York.4 Son of Gideon Salisbury and Elizabeth Shields.5 Baptized into LDS church in New York.6 Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, by 1831.7 Married JS’s sister Katharine Smith, 8 June 1831, at Kirtland.8 Settled at Chardon, Geauga Co.9 Participated in Camp of Israel expedition to Missouri, 1834.10 Appointed member of First Quorum of the Seventy, 28 Feb. 1835.11 Left Ohio for Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, May 1838.12 Fled Missouri; located near present-day Bardolph, McDonough Co., Illinois, Feb. 1839.13 Moved to Plymouth, Hancock Co., Illinois, by 1843; to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., by 1845; to Alexandria, Clark Co., Missouri, spring 1846; to Warsaw, Hancock Co., late 1846; and to Webster, Hancock Co., fall 1847.14 Died at Plymouth.15
