Moved to Farmington, Fulton Co., Illinois, Aug. 1836; to Amboy, Ogle Co., Illinois, Dec. 1837; and to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, Oct. 1840. Resided with JS in Nauvoo. Baptized into LDS church by JS, 20 Mar. 1842, in Nauvoo. Member of Nauvoo Masonic Lodge. Received elder’s license, 18 Apr. 1842, in Nauvoo. Served mission to New Jersey and Pennsylvania, summer 1842. Moved back to Broome Co., before July 1843. Married first Marietta Crocker, 9 July 1843. Appointed member of Council of Fifty, 11 Mar. 1844. Escorted body of JS from Mansion House to basement of Nauvoo House, where JS was buried, 29 June 1844. Married second Aurelia H. Gaylord, ca. 1848. Died in Amboy.
