Located in north-central Missouri.1 Settled in 1820s.2 Randolph Co. seat.3 Described in 1837 as having brick courthouse and seven stores, but no church buildings.4 Members of 1834 Camp of Israel and 1838 Kirtland Camp passed through Huntsville en route to Missouri.5 JS and Sidney Rigdon held two meetings here en route to Far West, Missouri, Nov. 1837.6 JS and family passed through town, Mar. 1838, while traveling to Far West.7 In 1839, Huntsville residents aided LDS refugees fleeing western Missouri for Illinois.8
