KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That We Joseph Smith Junr. & of the county of — and State of Illinois are held and firmly bound unto of tke county of and State of Illinois heirs and assigns in the sum of Six hundred dollars for the payment of which well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents.
NOW THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, that whereas, the said Joseph Smith Junr. & have this day sold unto the said a certain lot of ground situated, lying and being in the county of and State of Illinois, and described on the plat of the Town of as being Lot No. one in Block No. one hundred & fifty eight and received in payment for said lot ten— notes of hand bearing even date herewith, for the sum of Three hundred dollars, and payable as follows.
The first for 30 dollars on the 20th day of January A. D. 1841
The second for 30 dollars on the 20th [day of January] A D 1842
The third [for] 30 dollars [on the] 20th [day of January] A D 1843
The fourth [for] 30 dollars [on the] 20th [day of January] A D 1844
The fifth [for] 30 dollars [on the] 20th. [day of January] A D 1845
The sixth [for] 30 dollars [on the] 20th [day of January] A D 1846
The seventh [for] 30 dollars [on the] 20th [day of January] A D 1847
The eighth [for] 30 dollars [on the] 20th. [day of January] A D 1848
The ninth [for] 30 dollars [on the] 20th [day of January] A D 1849
The tenth [for] 30 dollars [on the] 20th [day of January] A. D 1850
withThe interest for each and every note to be paid annually.
Now if the said his heirs, executors, or administrators shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid, the amount of said notes with such interest as may accrue thereon, according to the tenor and effect thereof, when due, we the said Joseph Smith Junr & bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, to make or cause to be made, a good and sufficient Deed for the above described lot and then this Bond to become null and void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.
