KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That I Joseph Smith as Sole Trustee in Trust, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the county of , and State of am held and firmly bound unto William W. Meguire—— of the county of and State of —— his heirs and assigns, in the sum of two hundred and sixty—— dollars, for the payment of which, well and truly be made, I bind myself, my successors in office, and assigns, firmly by these presents.
NOW THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That whereas, the said Joseph Smith, as Sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, hath this day sold unto the said William W. Meguire—— a certain lot of ground, situated, lying, and being in the county of and State of , and described as follows to wit;
ten acres off from the East end of the North half, of the South West quarter of Section No Nine Tounship No Six North of Range No Eight West of the fourth principal Meridian——
And received in payment for said land one notes of hand bearing even date herewith, for the sum of twenty—— dollars, and payable as follows, with interest on or before the first day of June A. D. 1845 Also the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
The interest for each and every note to be paid annually.
Now, if the said William W. Meguire his heirs, executors, or administrators shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid, the amount of said note with such interest as may accrue thereon, according to the tenor and effect thereof, when due, I the said Joseph Smith as Sole Trustee in Trust &c. bind myself my successors in office, and assigns, to make, or cause to be made, to the said William W. Meguire—— his heirs and assigns, a good and sufficient Deed for the above described lot when I receive a perfect title for the same—— and then this shall become null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Given under my hand and sal this 29th. day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-four
