THIS INDENTURE, Made this tenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty BETWEEN Abel Owen and Betsey [Owen] his Wife of the Town of of Oswego and State of New York of the first part, and of the Town of Lake County and State of Ohio of the second part, WITNESSETH, That the parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of Seven Hundred Dollars money of Account of the United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged to them duly paid, ha[ve] sold and By these Presents, doth grant and convey to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, All that partorparceloflandsituateinthecertain lot of land situate in Henderson Tract in Scribas Patent known as the north half of Lot number forty five in Township number fourteen being all of the said north half of said lot Except forty acres from the south part heretofore deeded by Stephen Tafts to Alvin Gass The piece intended to be conveyed by these presents containsthirty five and one half acres of land be the same more or less
With the Appurtances, and all the Estate, Title, and Interest therein, of the said parties of the first part. And the said Abel Owen and Betsey his wife Parties of the first part for themselves their heirs executors and administrators doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, that the premises above conveyed, in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, he will forever WARRANT AND DEFEND, against every person whomsoever, lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof.
