This Indenture made, and entered into, this twenty sixth day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty three between and Tamar [Washburn Washburn] his wife, of the county of and State of of the first part, and Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the county of , and State of , of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said and Tamar his wife, party of the first part, for and in consideration of the love and good will they bear to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which the said Joseph Smith, party of the second part, is sole Trustee in Trust, and also for the sum of one dollar, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of , in the State of , known and described as follows, to wit. the West half of Lot number one in Block number Thirteen of Hibards addition to , together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Joseph Smith party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns, forever. And the said and Tamar his wife, party of the first part, their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises, unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust, &c. party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said and Tamar his wife party of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year above written.
