and being in the county of in the State of known and described as follows, to wit it being a part of Lot number thirty two in Block number six of Kimballs addition to , commencing one and a half rods east of the North West corner of said Lot, running thence South about twenty two and a half rods to the centre of Kimball Street, thence East thirteen and a half rods thence North about twenty two and half rods to the North line of said Lot, thence West thirteen and a half rods to the place of beginning, together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining. To Have and to Hold The above described premises unto the said Joseph Smith, party of the Second part, his successors in office and assigns forever. And the said and Sarah D. his wife, party of the First part, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust, &c. party of the Second part, his successors in office and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Testimony Whereof, the said and Sarah D. his wife, party of the First part, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written. Seal Sarah D. Rich Seal Signed sealed and delivered in Presence of , State of Illinois, ss. I, a justice of the Peace, in and for the City of and said do certify that and Sarah D. Rich his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Sarah D Rich having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises [p. 199]
