This Indenture made and entered into, this fifth day of August in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty three, between and Sarah D. [Pea Rich] his wife, of the county of , and State of of the first part, and Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the county of , and State of , of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said , and Sarah D. his wife, party of the first part, for and in consideration of the love and good will they bear to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which the said Joseph Smith, party of the second part, is sole Trustee in Trust, and also for the sum of one dollar, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of , in the State of , known and described as follows, to wit. being part of Lots thirty two and thirty three, Block six, in Kimballs addition to , commencing about twenty eight and a half rods east of the North West corner of said Lot thirty two, and four and half rods and five links South of the centre of Green Street, thence running South four rods and a half, and five links, thence West thirteen rods and a half, thence North four rods and a half and five links, thence East thirteen rods and a half, to the place of beginning, be the same more or less; together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Joseph Smith party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns forever. And the said and Sarah D. his wife, party of the first part, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust, &c. party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said and Sarah D. his wife party of the first part, hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year above written
