Know all men by these presents, that I of the County of New Haven and State of Connecticut in consideration of the Sum of One Dollar to me in hand paid Joseph Smith of the county of and State of Illinois the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowedged & have bargained Sold and ed and by these presents Do bargain, Sell and quit Claim, unto the Said Joseph Smith, and to his heirs and assigns forever, all my right, title, interest, Estaste, Claim and demand, both in law and in equity, and as well in possession as in expectancy of in and to all that certain farm or piece of land Situate and being in the County of and State of Illinois and described as follows to Wit: the South half of the North East quarter of Section No Two in Township Six north and in Range nine west of the fourth principal meridian Also ten acres of land being a part of the South west fractional quarter of Said Section two, being the north part of of the said fractional quarter Section divided from the other part of hereof by a line running due East and west, leaving the quantity of the last mentioned tract hereby Sold on the the North Side of the fractional quarter as aforesaid with all and Singular the hereditaments and improvements thereunto belonging, Said Lands are the Same which Mrdeeded to the Said Joseph Smith on the 20th. July AD. 1840— In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 24th day of October A. D. 1840
