Know all men by these presents that I Knowlton Hanks of the County of and State of in consideration of the love and good will I bear to the and also for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar to me in hand paid by Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in Trust for said Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the and aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained, sold, and ed, and by these presents do bargain, sell, and quit claim unto the said Joseph Smith as sole Trustee &c his successors in office and assigns forever, all the rights, title, Interest, claim and demand, boath at law and in equity, and as well in possession as in expectancy, of, in, and to all the following described tract of land, situated, lying and being in the County of and state of and being the North East qr of section thirty one of Township Five North in Range seven west of the fourth principal Meridian. Together with all and singular, the priviliges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described tract <or parcel> of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Joseph Smith as sole Trustee inTrust <&c> his successors in office and assigns forever, in as full and ample manner as the said is held by me at the ensealing and delivery of these presents In Witness whereas I have set my hand and seal this 24th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Forty two
