This Indenture made and entered into, This thirteenth day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty-one between and Sylvia P. [Sessions Lyon] his wife of the county of and State of of the first part, and Joseph Smith, as Sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints, of the county of , and State of of the Second part, Witnesseth, that the said and Sylvia P. his wife, party of the first part, for and in consideration of the love and good will they bear to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of which the said Joseph Smith, party of the second part, is sole trustee in trust, and also for the sum of one dollar, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Joseph Smith, as Sole Trustee in trust for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns forever, all those tracts or parcels of land, situate and being in the county of in the State of known and described as follows, to wit: Part of Lot No one in Block No one hundred and eight, commencing at the North West corner of said Lot running thence East eight Rods, thence South eleven Rods, thence West eight Rods, thence North eleven Rods, to the place of beginning, containing eighty eight Rods. Also part of Lot No two in Block No one hundred and eight commencing at the North West corner of said Lot and running thence South fifty feet, thence East fifty feet, thence North fifty feet, thence West fifty feet to the place of beginning, said Lots being in the City of .— together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Joseph Smith, party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns forever. And the said and Sylvia P. his wife, party of the first part, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Joseph Smith, as Sole Trustee in Trust, &c. party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant, and forever defend by these presents.
In Testimony whereof, the said and Sylvia P. his wife, party of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.—

I a justice of the peace, in and for the City of , in said do certify that , and Sylvia P. his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Sylvia P. Lyon having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said deed, and examined separate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said .
