said Joseph Smith and his wife, for themselves, their heirs, executors, and administrators, do Covenant with the party of the second part, their heirs, and assigns, that they are lawfully seized in fee of the afore granted premises, and have a good right to sell and convey the same, and that they will warrant and defend the title of the same, to the said , and , the party of second part, their heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful demands of any and or all persons whomsoever. In testimony Whereof, they the said party of the first part have hereunto set their <our> hands and seals, the day and year above written.

I a Justice of the Peace in and for the City of of said said , do certify, that Joseph Smith and his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described therein, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the same for the purposes therein mentioned. And the said having been by me made acquainted with the contents thereof, & examined seperate & apart from her husband, acknowledged that she had executed the same & relinquished her dower therein conveyed, voluntarily, & freely & without compulsion, of her said husband. Given under my hand & seal this third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & forty two.
