This Indenture made and entered into. This fifth day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three between Joseph Smith as Sole Trustee in Trust, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the County of and State of of the First part, and Robert Burton of the County of and aforesaid, of the Second part, Witnesseth, that the said Joseph Smith party of the First part, for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant Bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Robert Burton party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of Land, situate and being in the County of , in the State of known and described as follows, to wit: It being a part of the South East Quarter of Section twenty five in Township Seven North of Range Eight West of the fourth principal meridian, and being Lot number three as will be seen by reference to survey made by April 29th & May 6th. 1843 & commencing thirteen chains & fifty links South of the N. E. corner of So. qr. running thence West twenty chains, thence South twenty three chains & Sixty eight links, thence East nine chains & thirty five links, thence North Sixteen chains & thirty two links, thence East ten chains & Sixty five links, thence North Seven chains & thirty eight links to place of beginning & containing thirty acres more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining— To Have and To Hold The above described premises unto the said Robert Burton party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Joseph Smith, party of the First part, his assigns and successors in office the aforesaid premises, unto the said Robert Burton party of the Second part his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will Warrant and forever defend by these presents.
