consideration of four thousand five hundred dollars received to our full satisfaction of Zalmon H Mead, Jonas Stafford & Robert W. Mead, Merchants of the City of trading under the <name &> firm of Mead Stafford & Co., do give grant, bargain Sell and confirm unto them the Said Zalmon H. Mead Jonas Stafford & Robert W. Mead the following described Tract or lot of land situate in the Township of being Number nine in the ninth Range of townships of the Connecticut Western Reserve in the State of and which is also in the County of and is known by being a part of Block number one hundred and thirteen (113) in the City plat of the City of as Surveyed by Willard W. Beals Surveyor for the County of and recorded in Geauga County Records being that part of said Block on which the called also the “Chapel house” Stands, and bounded East by Smith Street South by a line two rods distant from the South side of said and parallel to it, West by a line two rods distant from the west and of Said & parallel to it, and north by a lot of land occupied by the Methodist Society in said containing about Seventy six rods of land be the same more or less, but Subject to all legal highways.—; To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto them the said Zalmon H. Mead, Jonas Stafford & Robert W. Mead their heirs and assigns forever to their own proper use and behoof. And I the said do for myself my heirs executors and administrators Covenant with the said Zalmon H Mead, Jonas Stafford & Robert W. Mead their heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as above written and that the same be free of all incumbrances whatsoever And furthermore I the said do by these presents bind myself & my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to them said Zalmon H Mead, Jonas Stafford, & Robert W. Mead their heirs and assigns against all Lawful claims and demands whatsoever. And I the said Rosannah Marks do hereby remise, release and forever unto the said Zalmon H Mead, Jonas Stafford & Robert W. Mead their heirs and assigns all my right and title of dower in and to the above described premises.—: The Condition of this deed is such that Whereas Joseph Smith Junior, , , and have this day executed & delivered to the Said Zalmon H Mead Jonas Stafford & Robert W. Mead, their three joint and Several promissory Notes all bearing even date herewith and all duly executed by said Joseph Smith Junior , , & , and all payable to the said Zalmon H Mead, Jonas Stafford & Robert W. Mead (by the name & description of their said firm of Mead Stafford & Co.) or order, One for the Sum of thirteen hundred and Seventy seven 00/100 dollars due on the Eighth day of July A.D. 1838, One for the sum of fourteen hundred and Sixty four 54/100 Dollars due on the eighth day of July A.D. 1839; and one for the Sum of fifteen hundred and fifty two 22/100 dollars due on the eighth day of July A. D. 1840— Now if the said Joseph Smith junior, , , , & their heirs assigns executors or administrators Shall well and truly pay the aforesaid Notes, according to the time thereof to the said Zalmon H Mead, Jonas Stafford & Robert W. Mead or assigns then the above deed shall be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and Seals this Eleventh day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty seven
