I a Justice of the Peace in and for said do hereby Certify that Robert Stewart and Nancy his wife, the grantors of the within Deed and who is personally known to me to be the persons whose signatures appears to the within Deed and who acknowledged the signing and sealing of the same to be their free and voluntary act and Deed for the purposes therein expressed.
Given under my hand and seal this fifteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four
a Justice of the Peace and the said Nancy his wife being by me examined seperate and apart from her husband declared that she freely did and now doth acknowledge the signing and sealing of the same as her act and Deed for the purposes therein expressed.

This Indenture, made this the fifteenth day of February in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four Between of the county of and State of of the first part, and William C. Gallaher of the county of and State of Witnesseth, That the said for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, lawful money of the , to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Wm. C. Gallaher the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents, doth grant, bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said Wm. C. Gallaher and his heirs and assigns forever. All that piece or parcel of land lying in county of and State of known and designated as a part of Lot Number twelve, in Block Number three, of s first addition to Nauvoo, commencing at the South East corner of Lot owned by Twist, running thence East five rods, thence North to the centre of said Twists Lot, North and South, thence West five rods, thence South along Twists east line to the place of beginning be the same more or less.
