This Indenture Made, and entered into, This eleventh day of October in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty three between and Sophia [Foster Burgess] his wife, of the county of and State of of the first part, and of the county of and aforesaid, of the other part Witnesseth, that the said and Sophia his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ten dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby gra[n]t, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the County of in the state of , viz: commencing at the South West corner of Lot Thirty Six in Block Six of s addition to thence running East fifteen rods and a half (lacking five links) thence North nine rods and a half and eight links, thence West fifteen rods and a half (lacking five links) thence South nine rods and a half and eight links to the place of beginning.
Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining.
To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and Sopheia his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever by these presents defend.
In testimony whereof, the said and Sophia his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year above written.

I a Justice of the Peace of said , do certify, that and Sophia his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed, & who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Sophia Burgess having been by me made acquainted with the contents of said Deed, and examined seperate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, & relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her .
