This Indenture made and entered into, This tenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three between and his wife, of the county of and state of of the one part, and Abram O. Smoot of the county of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & fifty Dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Abram O. Smoot his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the County of in the State of , viz: described as follows beginning at a stake twelve Rods East from a stake and corner North 46 degrees East one hundred and seventy two Links from the North East corner of South East quarter of Section thirty six Township seven North range Nine West, thence East twelve Rods thence South to the place of beginning containing one acre of land it being more or less.
Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Abram O. Smoot his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises unto the said Abram O. Smoot his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever by these presents defend.
In testimony whereof, the said & his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year above written.

I a Justice of the peace of said , do certify that & his wife, whose Signatures appear to the foregoing Deed, & who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses & purposes therein mentioned. And the said having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, & examined seperate & apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the Same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, & without compulsion of her said .
