This Indenture made and entered into this twenty third day of July 1843 one thousand eight hundred and forty three, between Richard Jones and Margaret Jones his wife, of and state of , of the first part, and John Workman Jr. of the and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Richard Jones and Margaret Jones his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty Dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said John Workman Jr. his heirs and assigns, forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situated and being in the and aforesaid, and bounded as follows, beginning at a stake two rods, East of the South West corner of Lot No four in Block one hundred and forty six. (146) in the city of thence running North eleven rods, thence East two rods, thence South eleven rods, thence West to the place of beginning, it being one sixth part of said lot, to have and to hold the above described premises unto the said John Workman Jr. his heirs and assigns forever, and the Said Richard Jones and Margaret Jones his wife, their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises unto the said John Workman his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, and we do and will warrant and defend by these presents.
In testimony whereof, the said Richard Jones and Margaret Jones his wife, of the first part, set our hands and seals on the day and year above written.

This day personally appeared before the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace, in and for said Richard Jones and Margaret Jones, the within named Grantors and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within Deed, to be their voluntary act for the uses and purposes therein expressed. And the said Margaret Jones being examined by me seperate and apart from her said husband, declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same, and that she is still satisfied therewith.
