This Indenture made and entered Into, this twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four between and as Trustees in Trust for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the county of , and state of , of the first part, and William E Higginbotham of the county of and aforesaid, of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said and party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged do hereby grant, bargin, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said William E Higginbotham party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract p <or> parcel of land, situated and being in the county of in the state of known and described as follows, to wit the east half of lot number two in Block number seventy one of the city of together whith all and singular the appurtenances the unto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described prenises unto the said William E Higginbotham party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and party of first part, their successors in ofice, the aforesaid premesis, unto the said William E Higginbotham paty of the second part, his heirs and assigns, againts the claim or claims of all and evry person whomesoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
