Lot No four in Block No one hundred and six of the City of , together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above des-cribed premises unto the said Harriet Parker party of the second part, her heirs and assigns forever. And the said Joseph Smith, party of the first part, his assigns and successors in office, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Harriet Parker party of the second part, her heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said Joseph Smith, party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.

This Indenture made and entered into this third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Forty four. Between and his wife of the City of , in the County of Hancock and State of Illinois of the first part, and Harriet Parker of the aforesaid City of of the Second part. Witnesseth, That the said and his wife party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Six hundred dollars to them in hand paid. The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby Grant, bargain, sell, Confirm and Convey unto the said Harriet Parker party of the second part, her heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land Situate and being in the aforesaid City of . Known and des-cribed as follows. To wit, Beginning at North East Corner of Lot No. One, in Block No one hundred and twenty in the City of aforesaid, running thence along the East bounds or line of said Lot South to where Eighty feet reaches and comes to north of and from the South east corner of said Lot— calculated to be about one hundred and one feet and six inches, thence West four rods and a half rod, thence North to the north bounds of said lot, thence East four rods and half rod to the place of beginning. Also one other piece or parcel situate within the aforesaid Lot No one in Block one hundred and twenty, and des-cribed as follows, to wit— Beginning at the middle of the South line of said lot, running thence West to the bounds of the West third of said lot, calculated to be about thirty three feet, thence north thirty feet, thence East to the north and south center line of said lot, thence South thirty feet to the place of [p. 66]
