There is no entry recorded in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger for a $0.50 order to John Hughes, dated 28 December 1844. Hughes is one of various people listed as being paid $0.50 for being court witnesses about February 1845; this order possibly was meant to balance the $0.50 owed to Hughes with $0.50 he owed for taxes.
