To the Honorable City Council of
We herein submit the report of Grub and Richies Bill against the Legion which was refered to us by your honorable body after having investigated we find thare is sufficient proof that the articles Named in the Bill was had in time of the trouble we however objected to paying for the Liqor. but by investigation we found that he had let that go by an order from the martial of the as thare was many at that <time> from the use of fresh beef was afflicted with Disentary and he ordered the use of some Liquor and Black pepper the report we have to make is this the fine against him is twenty five Dollars and cost which we recommend to be Discharged and farther that he be allowed to receive an order on the pay master gen of the Legion for five Dollars which will entirely free him from the suit. and also sattisfy him gentlemen of the Council we find he was verry liberal in the time of trouble and has not presented in his bill even all he let go and we hope you will be liberal with him and allow him this report
