Biography
10 July 1806–5 Aug. 1879. Policeman, blacksmith. Born in Pompey, Onondaga Co., New York. Son of Jacob Hodge and Sarah. Married Rebecca. Moved to Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois, by 1840. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8 Oct. 1840. Received elder’s license, 5 Oct. 1841. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 1842. Ordained a high priest, 1848. Moved to Kanesville (later Council Bluffs), Pottawattamie Co., Iowa, by 1850. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley; arrived, 12 Oct. 1852. Moved to Fairfield, Utah Co., Utah Territory, by 1860. Moved to Lehi, Utah Co., after 1870, where he died.
