26 Aug. 1823–1888. Born at Benson, Rutland Co., Vermont. Daughter of John S. Carter and Elizabeth Kenyon. Received patriarchal blessing from Joseph Smith Sr., 29 Jan. 1836, at Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Lived at Upper Alton, Madison Co., Illinois, Mar. 1841. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, shortly after. Married John S. Johnson, 27 June 1849, at Whiteside Co., Illinois. Moved to Audubon Co., Iowa, 1856. Lived at Hamlin’s Grove (later Hamlin), Audubon Co., 1860; at Oakfield, Audubon Co., 1870; and at Exira, Audubon Co., 1880. Buried at Oakfield Cemetery at Brayton, Exira Township, Audubon Co.
