Biography
26 Nov. 1785–ca. 1847. Farmer, stonemason. Likely born in Lebanon, Grafton Co., New Hampshire. Son of Richard Lyman and Philomelia Loomis. Married Sally Davis, 6 Aug. 1806, in Lebanon. Moved to St. Lawrence Co., New York, by 1820. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Joseph H. Wakefield and Solomon Humphrey, 1831, in St. Lawrence Co. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga, Co., Ohio, by 1834. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society. Ordained a high priest, 8 Oct. 1844, in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. Moved to Winter Quarters, unorganized U.S. territory (later in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska), 1846. Apparently drowned while fishing in Missouri River near Winter Quarters.
