Biography
7 Sept. 1801–19 Nov. 1836. Farmer. Born at Palmyra, Ontario Co., New York. Son of Silas Stoddard and Bathsheba Sheffield. Lived at Ontario Co., 1810. Married Sophronia Smith, 30 Dec. 1827, at Palmyra. Resident of Macedon, Wayne Co., New York, June 1830. Proselytized in Palmyra, 1830. Migrated to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, with Lucy Mack Smith company of Fayette, Seneca Co., New York, branch members, 1831. Ordained a priest in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Oliver Cowdery at Orange, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio, 25 Oct. 1831. Ordained an elder, 1832. Became estranged from church. Died at Macedon.
