Biography
12 Sept. 1803–before May 1847. Farmer, policeman. Born in Nelson, Chenango Co., New York. Son of Adam Daniels and Phoebe. Moved to Mentor, Geauga Co., Ohio, by 1826. Married Simira Colson, 21 Jan. 1828, in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Moved to Independence, Jackson Co., Missouri, fall 1831. Moved to Caldwell Co., Missouri, by Oct. 1838. Returned to Mentor, by 1840. Member of branch of church in Black River, Crawford Co., Wisconsin Territory, Feb. 1844. Admitted to Council of Fifty, 11 Mar. 1845. Member of police force in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by Apr. 1845. Ordained an elder, by 8 Jan. 1846. Moved to Winter Quarters, unorganized U.S. territory (later in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska), by 1846. Probably died at or near Winter Quarters.
