18 Nov. 1799–2 Dec. 1855. Blacksmith. Born at Charleston, Montgomery Co., New York. Son of Peter Elliott and Phebe Holley. Married first Almira Holliday of Solon, Cortland Co., New York, ca. 1821. Married second Margery Quick. Lived at Ithaca, Tompkins Co., New York, 1830. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2 Jan. 1831. Married third Mary Cahoon, 21 May 1831, at Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Appointed to go to Missouri, 31 Aug. 1831. Resided at Jackson Co., by July 1833. Participated in Camp of Israel expedition to Missouri, 1834. Ordained a seventy, 1835. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society. Married fourth Miranda Pratt, 11 Mar. 1838, in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio. Moved to Missouri with Kirtland Camp, 1838. Following exodus from Missouri, settled at Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois. Married fifth Margaret Straway, 12 Mar. 1848, in Henry Co., Iowa. Lived at Mount Pleasant, Henry Co., 1850. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1852. Died in Salt Lake City.
