Biography
Ca. 1813–after 1902. Blacksmith, carpenter. Born at Hanover, Chautauque Co., New York. Son of James Webb and Hannah Griswold. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, likely 1834. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, before Dec. 1835. Married first Eliza Ann McWethy (McWithey), 13 Dec. 1835, at Kirtland. Member of the Seventy in Kirtland, 1836. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society. Served mission to Illinois, 1839. Moved to Rochester, Peoria Co., Illinois, by June 1840. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by 1842; to Racine, Racine Co., Wisconsin Territory, 1842; to Nauvoo, 1843; and to Marquette Co., Wisconsin, by June 1850. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1853. Moved to Fillmore, Millard Co., Utah Territory, by June 1860. Married second Jane H., by 1870. Moved to Sacramento, Sacramento Co., California, by June 1870. Registered voter in Sacramento, 1882–1902.
