Biography
11 Mar. 1808–5 May 1849. Born in West Nantmeal, Chester Co., Pennsylvania. Son of Elijah Malin Sr. and Catherine Essick. Married Sarah McGuckin, 20 Jan. 1830, in West Brandywine Township, Chester Co. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 29 July 1839. Appointed as president of Brandywine branch, July 1840. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 1846. Moved to Winter Quarters, unorganized U.S. territory (later in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska), May 1846. Served mission to Pennsylvania, Apr. 1848–May 1849. Died in St. Louis.
