Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Calvin Beebe, 1 Mar. 1832, in Greene Co., Indiana; ordained an elder by Peter Dustin and Calvin Beebe shortly after in Greene Co. Divorced wife, by 1833. Moved to Jackson Co., Missouri, 1833. Served mission to Illinois, 1833–1834. Joined Camp of Israel expedition at Salt River, Monroe Co., Missouri, 1834. Ordained a high priest, 10 Sept. 1834, in Clay Co., Missouri. Served mission to Illinois, 1834. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, 1835. Labored on Kirtland temple. Served mission in Ohio, 1835. Appointed to Missouri high council, 1836, in Kirtland. Married second Lucy Simmons, 19 Jan. 1836, in Kirtland. Moved to Clay Co., 1836.
