Biography
26 June 1788–3 Apr. 1877. Farmer. Born at Philipstown, Albany Co., New York. Son of Ezra Strong and Nancy Gates. Married Olive Lowell, 19 Nov. 1814. Moved to Erie Co., New York, by Jan. 1816. Moved to Sheldon, Genesee Co., New York, by June 1830. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and ordained a priest, by 1833. Moved to Rockport, Allen Co., Ohio, by Oct. 1834. Ordained a high priest at Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, 1836. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, area by 1842. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley by 1850. Baptized into Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 12 Oct. 1862, at Santaquin, Utah Co., Utah Territory. Died at Woodland, Cowlitz Co., Washington Territory.
