2 Sept. 1797–11 Mar. 1862. Farmer. Born in New Hampshire. Married Lucy Ann Perry, 18 Feb 1829. Resided at Genesee, Warsaw Co., New York, by 1830-1834. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, by 26 Dec. 1833. Chastised by JS and Sidney Rigdon at bishop’s court, 26 Dec. 1833, in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio; confessed and was forgiven. Testified at high council meeting, 19 Feb. 1834, in Kirtland. Participated in meeting to investigate JS’s conduct during Camp of Israel, Aug. 1834. Resided at Mentor, Lake Co., Ohio, from 1835-1856. Buried in Mentor Cemetery.
