Biography
25 Apr. 1796–10 Nov. 1858. Born in Lincoln Co., North Carolina. Son of Phillip Killian and Mary Hockins. Moved to Missouri. Married first Lydia Ann Hopper Conley, 25 Aug. 1818, in Howard Co., Missouri. Moved to Lexington, Lillard Co., Missouri, 1818. Moved to Perry Co., Missouri, 1825. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Oliver Cowdery, Sept. 1831, in Lafayette Co., Missouri. Received elder’s license, 15 July 1836, in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Married second Sarah (Sally) McClure. Moved to Caldwell Co., Missouri, by 1838. Appointed captain in Caldwell Co. militia, 1838. Member of Far West, Caldwell Co., high council. Moved to Montrose, Lee Co., Iowa Territory. Became member of Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, high priests quorum, 10 Aug. 1844. Left to serve mission to Kentucky, 28 Jan. 1845. Migrated to Salt Lake City, 1851. Died in Emigration Canyon, Great Salt Lake Co., Utah.
