Biography
Ca. 1810–after 1869. Dental surgeon, physician. Born in England. Practiced dentistry, by 1829. Immigrated to Philadelphia, before 1834. Moved to New York City, by July 1839. Moved to Burlington, Des Moines Co., Iowa Territory, before Feb. 1844. Became a traveling dental surgeon; visited Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, June 1844. Testified to witnessing destruction of Nauvoo Expositor press, June 1844. Moved to California, 14 Apr. 1849; to Placerville, El Dorado Co., California, by 1850; to Branch, Stanislaus Co., California, by 1860; to Vallejo, Solano Co., California, by Mar. 1868; to Antioch, Contra Costa Co., California, by Sept. 1868; and to Ash Creek, Yavapai Co., Arizona Territory, by 1869.
