Wardrop, John

26 Dec. 1809–3 Apr. 1890. Carpenter. Born in Shotts, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Son of James Wardrop and Mary Watt. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Alexander Wright, 12 July 1837, in Lanarkshire. Moved to Bridgeton, Lanarkshire. Married Lucy McIntosh, 17 Sept. 1837, in Bridgeton. Immigrated to U.S. and settled in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. Ordained a seventy, 8 June 1845, in Nauvoo. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1851. Served mission to Scotland, 1875. Died in Salt Lake City.
