Clark, Marston Greene

Biography

12 Dec. 1771–July 1846. Born at Lunenburg Co., Virginia. Son of Benjamin Clark and Elizabeth Greene. Married Lucy Green Harper, 31 Mar. 1797, in Virginia. Moved to Indiana Territory, 1800. Appointed brigade major to Indiana governor William Henry Harrison in Tippecanoe military campaign, 1811. Member of Masonic Grand Lodge of Indiana, 1818. Elected to Indiana House of Representatives, 1820, 1835. Member of Indiana Senate, 1821–1822, 1826–1828. Subagent for Kanza (Kaw) Indians, Mar. 1829–July 1832; agent for Kanza Indians, July 1832–Aug. 1834; and subagent for Shawnee, Ottawa, and other Indians south of Kansas River, Aug. 1834–Mar. 1835. Died in Salem, Washington Co., Indiana.
