Biography
7 June 1809–12 Oct. 1891. Farmer, land developer, merchant. Born in Chateaugay, Franklin Co., New York. Son of William Bailey and Phebe Platt. Moved to New York City, ca. 1826. Married Eliza Meier Lorillard, 29 July 1836, in New York City. Moved to West Farms, Westchester Co., New York, by 1850. Served on board of directors for Lorillard Company, by 1857. Moved to Fordham (later Bronx), Westchester Co., by 1863. Died at Fordham.
