Beemer, Philip

29 Jan. 1789–18 Sept. 1846. Farmer. Born at Grimsby, Upper Canada. Son of John Beemer and Hannah Lewis. Moved to the Long Point and Colborne area of Norfolk Co., Upper Canada, 1797. Served in War of 1812. Married Mary Ann Bloomfield, 1816. JS visited home of a Mr. Bemer at Colborne, 1833. In December, Moses Nickerson informed Sidney Rigdon that a “Mr. and Mrs. Beamer, are seriously enquiring after the truth.” A “Beamer” is listed as being baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Colborne, 1833. These accounts appear to be associated with Philip Beemer. Buried at Simcoe, Norfolk Co., London District, Canada West.
