Biography

1 June 1806–22 Oct. 1867. Born in Florida, Montgomery Co., New York. Daughter of Roswell Murray and Susannah Fitch. Moved to Bloomfield, Ontario Co., New York, by 1810. Moved to Victor, Ontario Co., by 1820. Married Heber Chase Kimball, 22 Nov. 1822, at Mendon, Monroe Co., New York. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Joseph Young, Apr. 1832, in Mendon. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, fall 1833. Made clothes for workmen and veils of Kirtland House of the Lord, ca. 1834–1836. Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, July 1838; to Atlas and Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, 1839; and to Commerce (later Nauvoo), Hancock Co., Illinois, ca. 1840. Joined Female Relief Society of Nauvoo, 24 Mar. 1842. Among first women to perform ordinances in Nauvoo temple. Moved to Winter Quarters, unorganized U.S. territory (later in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska), 1846. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley; arrived Sept. 1848. Died in Salt Lake City.
