Farm (JS’s), Hancock County, Illinois
Summary
JS purchased one hundred fifty-three acres for farm, 16 Sept. 1841, to be paid off over time. Located about three miles east of Nauvoo on south side of Old Road to Carthage. Farm managed by Cornelius P. Lott and wife, Permelia. JS frequently labored on farm. JS rode past farm en route to jail in Carthage, 24 June 1844.
