Home (JS’s), Nauvoo, Illinois

Term applied to one of two homes JS inhabited in Commerce (later Nauvoo) area, the first a log home () near southwest corner of Main and Water streets. Residence of JS and family, 10 May 1839–31 Aug. 1843, when Smith family moved across street to second home on northeast corner (), where JS lived until his death on 27 June 1844.
